Counselling

What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy, it is an opportunity for you to have a safe and quiet space to be able to explore anything you may be struggling with.
Our experienced counsellors work in a very open and non-judgemental way and will work with you to help you understand and process your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. There will often be a verbal contract made between counsellor and client to add some focus to the sessions. This is normally discussed during the first session. Sessions are usually weekly and you will be given a regular slot.
All our counsellors are BACP registered (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and are bound by the BACP Code of Ethics, so you can rest
assured that our counsellors are fully trained and deemed fit to practice.

What Can Counselling Help With?
Counselling can help with lots of issues, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, redundancy, abuse, childhood-
related problems, addictions, bereavement and loss.
Clients often say that they find it easier to talk to a third party such as a counsellor, as opposed to a friend or family member who may be more inclined to advise them or try to ‘fix’ them. Some people may just simply want to ‘offload’, and counselling will offer that opportunity.
Counselling can focus on one specific issue a client wants help with or can be more general.
