The Study Of Massage Therapy
I completed my Level 3 Sports Massage qualification at Basingstoke College of Technology in 2018 before going on to further study BSc Sports Therapy at Solent University. During my time at Solent University, I had the opportunity to engage in a range of both sporting and clinical assessment and injuries that allowed me to challenge and improve my skills as a hands-on therapist. I am currently continuing my further education, studying for my MSc in Clinical Exercise Science at Solent University.
Sports and Clinical Therapy
Throughout my time studying my BSc, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of athletes and everyday people, including rugby players, marathon runners and netball players. I spent my time at university in job roles within Reading Rugby Club and Portsmouth Rugby Club, providing assessments, treatments, pitch-side first aid and developing and managing rehabilitation programs; whilst also working with runners at events such as London Marathon where I have provided post-marathon treatments as part of Hospice UK. I am currently working within the Solent University Clinic, enabling me to work with a range of ages, physical limitations, and clinical diseases such diabetes, cancer and schizophrenia. My experience in both the sporting and clinical environment ensures my capability to assess individual needs, tailor treatment plans and provide effective rehabilitation resulting in improved performance outcomes.
Personal Experience of Applied Therapy
My personal experience in activities such as horse riding, triathlon and netball allow me a further insight to understanding the performance and injury prevention requirements of athletes whilst gaining a more in-depth knowledge on clinical exercises sciences, I believe I can appropriately understand both individual and activity requirements ensuring the utmost appropriate assessment, treatment and development plan to be created. I am enthusiastic in combining both my passion for sport and the clinical aspect of injury assessment and treatment to obtain the best outcomes whilst fostering a positive environment.
I take great pride in ensuring I provide the best care to you as an individual to help achieve your goals and guarantee you feel the best version of yourself.
