Ear Wax Removal with MicroSuction

About Our Service At Total Health West Berkshire.

Ear micro suction is a safe and effective method of removing earwax build-up, without the need for water irrigation. This procedure is performed by a qualified healthcare professional, who uses a small suction device to gently extract the earwax from your ear canal.

The procedure is relatively quick, taking only a few minutes to complete, and is typically pain-free.

Ear micro suction is suitable for most people, including those with hearing aids, ear tubes, or perforated eardrums. It is also safe for children, making it a popular choice for parents who want to ensure their child’s earwax is removed safely and effectively.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as ear pain, hearing loss, or tinnitus, it is important to seek professional advice from a qualified healthcare provider. They will be able to assess your condition and determine whether ear micro suction is an appropriate treatment option for you.

What We Treat

We use microsuction to safely remove the buildup of wax from your ears.

How do I know if too much Ear Wax is causing my problems?

Symptoms such as loss of hearing, earache, tinnitus (noises in the ear), constant or intermittent whistle from hearing aids, your own voice sounding deeper or hollow to you or your ears being itchy are all indicators that you could be suffering from an excess build up of ear wax and that micro suction could help you.

What happens if I do not have the excess ear wax removed?

If left untreated the earwax can continue to build up, making it even more difficult to remove and leaving your ears feeling blocked and reducing your hearing. In some cases the blockage can be so severe that people are left feeling constant pressure and pain.

Ear wax removal could help you if you are suffering from

  • A feeling of fullness in the ear
  • The sensation of hearing everything muffled
  • Mild tinnitus
  • Sudden hearing loss after swimming or showering.

There are some ear-related conditions that can result in you not being able to have microsuction performed. Such as having repeated ear infections. If you are unsure please contact us on 01635 791 301 or email us  and we can answer any questions you might have.

Yes, if it’s done by an appropriately trained healthcare professional. They will ensure that your ears are ok to have the earwax removed and will talk you through the process before they proceed.

The process is gentle but, to be more comfortable, we may suggest you soften the earwax first so that it’s easier to remove.

You may find your ear(s) take a few hours to settle down or to adjust to your hearing level, especially if you have not heard well for a long time. Your voice may sound different to you too. If it was a difficult or ‘impacted’ ear wax removal your ears may feel sore for a few hours.
