Rosie Waters Counsellor
As an Attachment Focused Therapist, I work in a very gentle and non -directive way. Much emphasis is placed on building a solid, safe and secure relationship between myself and my clients, as a foundation for the Counselling work.
I work with individuals struggling with a variety of difficulties, including; but not limited to: anxiety, depression, bereavement, prolonged sadness, parenting or family difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence, childhood experiences, self-injury, relationship breakdown or difficulties such as,
separation or divorce.
My experience has shown that Attachment Focused Therapy can be particularly helpful for those who struggle with relationships or with parenting. This is because our attachment styles and behaviours that developed in our younger years, can sometimes be problematic in current
relationships. Exploring these attachment behaviours and possible links to childhood experiences can sometimes help identify patterns that may be holding a person back, or causing distress – patterns that a client may wish to modify or change.
Through counselling, I believe it is possible to learn new ways of relating to yourself and those around you, as well as learn how to manage and untangle difficult and overwhelming feelings. Counselling can be a very rewarding process, leading to self-discovery and increased self-awareness,
which in turn, can empower a person to lead a more fulfilled life.
Many people say that their relationship with themselves and those close to them, improve as a result of therapy.
I work with individual adults, older adults and young people over the age of 14.
