Taking the first step to seek help is not always easy. You may be struggling with anxiety, family/relationship issues or be experiencing sad or depressed feelings and thoughts. I strive to offer confidential, non judgemental counselling where you can be heard and understood. Talking about and exploring your emotions and feelings will help you come to your own conclusions and empower you to take your next steps in life. I am BACP Registered Counsellor and work with a Humanistic and Integrative approach. I have experience of offering counselling to both adults and young people. I have worked with clients who have had a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, issues in relation to gender and sexuality alongside clients who have experienced trauma and experienced loss.
I also have a wealth of experience and understanding of working with young people with a diverse range of issues; including bullying; school/college issues; confidence building; difficulties coping with relationships. I have a passion for working with people which aims to help my clients to process and understand their feelings. I believe that enabling a client to voice their difficulties and work through any issues that arise from these in a confidential and non-judgement relationship with a counsellor enables them to heal and move forward in their lives.
I offer a warm and down to earth approach which is supportive and within a safe space for short or long term therapeutic counselling. The first counselling session together is an opportunity to talk about the issues you bring to counselling and what you would like to work on. This is an opportunity for you, to find out more about the way I work and together we can decide if we are the right “fit”. There is a little paperwork to do in this first session, as I take some basic details from you and ask you a few questions about your general health and wellbeing. There is no obligation to continue after this first session if you feel I am not the right person for you to work with. I can help with Abuse, ADD / ADHD, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Cancer, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Redundancy, Relationships, Self-esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women’s issues, Work related issues.
