Book a free 15-minute suitability call

A simple first step to help you feel clear before committing to anything.

During the call, we can:

  • talk through what you’ve been experiencing
  • help you understand whether an autism assessment is appropriate
  • discuss whether ADHD or a combined assessment should also be considered
  • answer any questions about the process, cost, and next steps

There is no obligation to book an assessment after this call.

“Autism diagnoses in England have surged in recent decades, pushing NHS services to their limits.”

“The process was very efficient in timing with the pre-assessment forms, the actual assessment and the reports being received.”

When should you consider an autism assessment?

You don’t need to be certain.

Many adults come to us after years of feeling that something doesn’t quite fit – even if they’ve found ways to manage day-to-day life.

You might recognise some of the following:

  • Social interactions feel confusing, tiring, or hard to navigate
  • You prefer routine, predictability, or time alone
  • Sensory experiences (noise, light, textures) feel overwhelming
  • You’ve developed ways to “mask” or fit in
  • You experience burnout, anxiety, or exhaustion from everyday demands
  • You’ve always felt different, but never had an explanation

An assessment can help you understand whether there’s an underlying reason – and what would actually support you.

Not sure if it’s autism, ADHD, or both?

You don’t need to work that out on your own.

Many adults have overlapping traits, and it’s common to feel unsure which assessment is the right starting point.

During your suitability call, we can:

  • talk through your experiences
  • help you understand whether autism, ADHD, or both should be considered
  • recommend the most appropriate next step

Where appropriate, we can offer a combined assessment approach, so you don’t need to worry about choosing the wrong pathway.

The goal is to help you get clear – without unnecessary steps or confusion.

What an autism diagnosis can help with

An autism assessment is not just about a label.

It can help you:

  • Understand patterns and experiences across your life
  • Reduce self-blame and gain clarity
  • Improve relationships and communication
  • Access workplace support and adjustments where appropriate
  • Make sense of past challenges and current needs

For many people, the biggest shift is moving from confusion → understanding.

Even if you already suspect autism, a formal assessment can provide clarity, validation, and practical support that’s difficult to access otherwise.

What to Expect From a Private Adult Autism Assessment

Our assessments are structured to give a clear and thoughtful outcome.

They typically include:

1. Pre-assessment Stage

Questionnaires and background information, including developmental history where possible. We may need details of your medical history as well.

2. Clinical Assessment

A detailed assessment using structured interviews and recognised tools such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R.

3. Feedback and Report

After a multidisciplinary review, you will receive a full written report, plus a feedback session with one of our clinicians to discuss the outcome, recommendations, and next steps.

What happens if autism is identified?

If autism is identified, we will guide you through your options.

This may include:

  • practical strategies for daily life
  • understanding sensory needs and boundaries
  • support with work or relationships
  • guidance on next steps or additional support

What if I don’t receive a diagnosis?

This is a common concern.

Not every assessment results in an autism diagnosis. If criteria are not met, we will still:

  • explain what we have found
  • help you understand your experiences and challenges
  • suggest practical next steps or alternative support where appropriate
